lol wow. I don't understand the whole crying thing, but what do I know. If you screw up...own it. I might paint my nails at 10mph (just kidding.) You should know what you are getting into. If you don't think you can handle it...don't do it. Sadly common sense isn't so common.

I don't either. All of that hate and backstabbing and drama. That woman you were referring tow as on vacation. She wasn't working.

@nate980, When they meet you for the first time and instantly start telling you their resume, expect a bad trip.

I'd like to know which truck stops you are going to, because it's been my experience that the exact opposite has happened. Seems like sweat pants, flip flops & going days without bathing is more in vogue with today's newer breed of drivers. For the most part, the ones that are "clean shaven" just aren't old enough to have facial hair yet. But what can you expect from a driver that's weeks out of his pampers & days into his CDL.

@soloflyr lol not sure what to think about that. Are you checking out the men or is it the women who do that? Some of the women are scary. I was coming back from ga think I was some where around Lake City Fl. and it wasn't too bad. Although there was one guy who looked pretty rough. For the most part I see a lot of guys in some sort of company uniform or shirt. I can't imagine wearing something uncomfortable for as long as y'all sit.

Thanks y'all for all the insight and being so kind. I have truly enjoyed talking with you and hope we can continue. Be safe out there, but especially with this storm that is coming through.

@CharlieK , on the @cnsper bridge beam video, to set up the wrong way turn:

Send the front car ahead and flip around stop traffic, wait for the "bring it on, got everyone stopped". You would cut diagonally across at the last break in the. divider before the light. Rear car has to stay right and block any traffic coming from behind. Big turn. Big huge turn made easy. Lot easier than doing the 3 point turns.

I guess that's something that I've never thought of... the front car going ahead to flip around to stop traffic. If I'd thought of that a long time ago, it would have made a few situations go a lot smoother. I've never been a pilot, or hauled a load with a pilot.. But I have been in on moving some stuff around that we did have a car act like a pilot.

Doing it that way, the front car going ahead, flipping around to stop traffic. Is that considered traffic control? I would have thought it was, but maybe its not? I mean, people do that all the time... turn on their 4-ways in their car coming to a dead stop when something is crossing the road in front of them, afraid that the car coming up from behind won't see it. The pilot working it like you mentioned, is essentially doing exactly that.

The attached .jpg is the Minnesota "chart" I was looking at, when I saw that a civilian could not perform traffic control... and that made me start to think... w'w'wait-a-minute! :)

I've thought about taking a course just to know the things that the pilots are supposed to know so I can better screen out the bad ones before they cause me a problem.
