If you had a choice, which would you choose? I have a date to start with Danny Herman on the 23rd of January the Monday after I graduate from school. I like what Wil Trans has to offer better, but they can't get me an orientation/trainer until the middle of Feb. What say you?
Danny Herman or Wil Trans?

That's the hard part of adulthood. You have to weigh different circumstances. I like them both. I would suggest you not make a short-term decision. If you had to bet one will fit you better this time next year, that's the one to pick.

I have been "adulting" for almost 30 years. Just trying to get some wisdom from those who have been in this career for a while as this is a second career for me. Thanks for the wise advice.

I'd choose Danny Herman because they have good long runs and don't do Northeast or New York City.
VIDEODROME and timd1978 Thank this. -
I've been adulting for a long time also. Decisions like this come down to too many personal preferences for anyone to pick it for you. Wil-Trans is a good company but their reefer freight has more complications than a typical dry van, especially a drop & hook. Danny Herman doesn't do the Northeast. You are going to go back and forth on I-40 and below. That's nice until you get bored of it. I'd rather be bored than hunting for a customer near NYC or Boston again. I'm trying to make a similar decision. I have the most predictable job possible with good benefits. I'm leaning toward Jim Palmer for the Western driving and no Northeast. But my second choice is Danny Herman for the no Northeast and easy Western driving & stay out of the big mountains. I've also asked others to help me decide. It's nice to have the fresh perspective but nobody has YOUR perspective.
I would try to decide between them ignoring the short delay because that delay will mean nothing later. Good luck.Need4Speed, DRAGON64, timd1978 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Does DHT allow you to take your days off (home time) at areas other than your residential address? I mean as long as you are near that location with a load? I ask because when I worked for Crete, they allowed that at first. Then a year later, the terminal manager said I had to take all my days off at the address on my license. She never explained why though.

Not sure but at this point I think I'm going another direction. They said I cannot take the truck home and it would be a 4 hour drive to my house one way from where I could drop the truck. That's 8 hours of a 48 hour or do home time.
