How hard is it to install a inert sheeting between the two competing metals? (Or a better question is can you still install a factory spec sheet)

I know you can also prevent dissimilar metal corrosion by doing a fay surface seal between both parts. If water can't get in it won't corrode. That what we did with heavy structures when I worked in aircraft maintenance.

I'll call around and see how much I can get 4 of those hangers for. Thanks for the info guys, I know this was more than normal for flats.

Not hard at all. But you dang well need to have all corrosion wire wheeled of and a smooth surface on both the hanger and frame to get a good seal. Even run a bead of silicone adhesive around it for good measure.

    Ruthless and x1Heavy Thank this.

You can get a 100% seal, but it will still (sweat) from the different temp changes. Just be sure the frame rail flange isn't pitted real bad when you have the hanger off.

Yeah, we'll see if it even gets that far. I think I found them in the $250-$300 range but I will go back an inspect the clean frame tomorrow.

Oh and look at the rear of the deck and see how much welding they have done there. Ravens were bad about that also

Their is an outfit around Houston that has 4 year old flats for sale that have ever been sold. $ 20.000 . Green Equipment I believe bought all the inventory when Direct Trailer shut their doors. I know they have an ad in truck paper.

I'd say its from corrosion also. I wouldn't be afraid to repair the spring perch before replacing it. Make sure you lnock a few grand off your offer for your aggravation. Also be sure to check the lower rail for deep pitting there also. I've seen guys put a new piece of aluminum in between the rail and pedestal for that very issue. Check the fifth wheel plate for spreading too. Really common on older trailer that run in the snowbelt.
