True its so lil difference between 1.0 and 1.5....I posted a chart on that here somewhere..In your case with a 4 watt radio, you might loose 1/4 of a watt..Also remember to other places where you have loss..Bad connections, bad ant,bad mount ect so in theory you might be looseing 50% or more..
This stuff is enough to make a man drink..lol

Newest used buy: bone-stock cobra 29 ltd classic with Astatic 636 mic and a small microphone holder from gear keeper. $35 off of craigslist. A little dusty but a wet Clorox wipe took care of most of it.

geez... and I felt old school when I pulled my Cobra NW out of the closet last week and had it tuned. build plate on the back said 2000

It's a great radio right from the factory but it won't be so great after Kelly gets done with it since according to him this is a perfect waveform and we all know that's not the case... I wouldn't recommend putting echo in the radio I would just leave it stock and be happy with how it performs

IIRC, this was from the early 2000s as well.

I'm keeping this one stock, as well.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

Interesting observation about the antenna light on this cobra. Like my two other cobra 29's, it will start to flash the light with modulation when the SWR creeps above 2.5 or so. On the little wil antenna, that would be the upper 10 channels on the band or so. However, this last cobra 29 I got will not turn the antenna light on when there's no antenna connected to it. But it does turn on with a slightly elevated SWR with the antenna.

This stock Cobra 29 will outperform anything that came off of Kelly's bench....
Look closely to how perfect that waveform is right from the factory. -
Just checked. It's from October 2005.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.
