If you stated your location, I'm not sure I caught it....that helps. Did @Chinatown ever help you out? He's got so many companies that don't advertise often, that I'm sure one if not more would meet your needs. You really should add your loc. to your profile, it helps people help you.... all along the way of your career. I'll help how I can.

I couldn't figure how to add the location. I must've overlooked it. Chinatown was actually the one who pointed out kllm and jim palmer/ wil trans. I also did prime and talked to them today everything was fine until she mentioned that i pay $100 up front and then $55 for the cdl. The application is only good for 30 days so she told me when I get the money call back and reapply. I did apply to jim palmer and the application is currently under review. I have a clean record, good driving record no tickets or accidents. I also have high school education worst thing is my employment history has two gaps. One after high school where i worked under the table helping my brother in law with Hughes Net installs. The recruiter told me to put it down as a gap because there is no pay stubs and no way to contact my brother in law for verification. His phone is turned off. The other gap was after my first seasonal job, i was actively looking but also taking care of my grandmother with physical therapy and surgery. That took 5 months. My driving record is short just under 2 years with my license but my permit for 2 as well

Also under qualifications jim palmer has this listed. "Active driving license for 3 years, Social Security card, US Citizenship OR Alien Registration Card."
Since i was born here i have the social security card from birth, the birth certificate and my license from 2 years plus permit for 2 years. I am assuming i am covered by the social security card

If you have a leg-in with JP/WT ... man, that's the way to go. You must be young enough to not be intimidated by tarping, so that's a plus right there. Those are two pristine sister companies that are very selective as to who they hire. I've never worked for either, but did my share of flatbedding in the winters when asphalt is off. It's dang hard work when you are my age, but since all your other stuff is clean, that would be MY choice, were I you. Again, it may just be rumored, but I always have this feeling / fleeting thought that KLLM pushes lease. I could be dead wrong; info could be years old. Sounds like you are indeed covered, from what you state, and then some. Ring their phones, follow up; show you want it. My measley advice, but .... they are close to cream of the crop for newbies. JMHO!
Best wishes... follow that lead first~!

ps: the reason many places ask for 3 years of licensure is to make sure you were indeed allowed on the roads, in your home state, and not jumping from Canada to Mexico or places otherwise. I think you should be good; I'm pullin for ya to be.

I can't figure out if the comma separating the statements means they want 3 years license plus the others or what. I have about 1.5 years on my license no accidents or nothing. Im hoping not having it 3 years wont dq me. They mostly pull reefers

    • Must be 23 or older
    • Must have possessed an active Drivers License for 3 years or more
    • Must possess a valid social security card
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess an alien registration card
    • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language, in accordance with DOT regulations.
    • Must be able to verify past 3 years of employment history prior to joining CDL program
    • Must pass a DOT physical and controlled substance and alcohol test
    • No DWI, DUI, or reckless driving convictions within the last 5 years
    • Felony convictions will be reviewed

To me, a PERMIT is still an active license, though not full rights. I got this off of another forum's review of them... and that's how I see it. Verifying your employment may be your biggest hurdle; you may have to get family members to write letters attesting to your BIL / Hughes deal, and taking care of family. You're NOT out of the loop, I think! Hopefully you are / have been studying for your CDLP and can charm their britches off should they do a phone interview. I have respect for these guys... small fleet, and very charmed. TMC is a flatbed company that I got them confused with earlier; their trucks are similar; they may somehow be related, but not sure.
Wishing you the best; keep us posted, man.

My sister can verify the brother in law ordeal and my uncle can verify the grandmother and helping her. My state driving record doesn't mention my permit just the license

As long as you had no incidents on your permit, it probably "wouldn't" show up; that's how they do it here in Ohio, anyway.
That's great that you have family to verify the employment gaps; I certainly would run with it. Hit it and DON'T quit it!
Wish you the best man, keep us posted. I'm just heading out to my second stop; i work vampire shift, by choice. Ttys.

ps: yeah, that's an older forum I got that from..... it probably IS 21 now.....

Would you call the recruiter and ask or just wait since the application is up for review
