Walmart here I come!

Dispatch is done based on ETD, which the driver inputs himself. My husbands start time is 12:00 on his day back, which means he can start at 11:00. By HOS, he can work until 1:00 in the morning the next day. He always stops around 10:00pm that night. That way his week is turned around, with him starting at 8:00 in the morning.

You can pretty much determine what your work schedule is, as far as hours of the day. You control your own days with ETD's, and knowing where you can take your layover. You are not micromanaged.

 

Most of the trucks run between 8am and 10 pm. I'm done by 10 pm every day. There are exceptions though.

dang just saw on the news where walmart is cutting a 1,000 jobs at the headquarters. and hr dept will be the most impacted. wm says they are out sourcing alot of the corporate jobs. so for us applying it maybe a minute.

 

Just wondering when the next pay period starts? Trying to figure out when orientation might start. Thanks

I would think Feb 13 is likely but if they are looking to get all those drivers we saw yesteday in one class it may longer to get everything done.

 

Loads are dispatched when they are ready. Our whse works two shifts, some loads may come out from 5 am until 10-11 pm at night. If you have a 2pm delivery time, it doesn't mean you'll be dispatched to get there at 1:55. Store should have an empty for you the night before, whenever it's ready you can drop the next load.

 

The mistakes you made can be cleared up in the phone interview and will most likely just involve you filling out some additional forms after you pass the interview and road test. Small issue and shouldn't hinder you in anyway provided your application still reflects you've met the minimum qualifications.
