Freightliner Clicking when you press starter button

    The magneto switch? Yes it was replaced. But there's 2 big studs and 2 smaller nuts. Just don't know which one you're referring to

    Ok that magneto switch is just a relay.

    Thats fine.

    Now then, there is also a relay on the starter. Get rid of that .
    The small wire that went to the relay on starter now just goes direct to the bigger selinoid.

    Problem solved

    Is there any way you can snap a pic of your starter.? The wiring?

    IMG_7323.JPG i don't see a relay though, then again I don't know what I'm looking for.

    It's running now. Just sometimes it just clicks and starter won't engage or anything

    Ok so thats a 42mt not a 39 mt like i thought.
    There is no seperate relay on that model.

    Its probley just a sticky seliniod on starter

    Most guys upgrade to the gear reduction 39mt when putting a new starter on.

    Ive never had much luck with those reman 42mt starters.
