I guess you don't get it Craig. You are the one that's having a difficult time and you are the one that needs help. I don't need help my stuff works just fine and I'm perfectly happy with all my stuff works. You are the one that's unhappy with how your stuff is working and you are the person who keeps asking for help or advice. If someone offers you help then it's up to you to decide if the terms are acceptable. If they are not acceptable then Allen has no right to bad-mouth me by saying I'm not helping you. You either need help or you don't . If you want your stuff to work great I can help you. Expenses are your burden not mine.

I'm not mad at you and my offer is always on the table if you ever need help. I'm not going to inconvenience Myself by taking a day off of work to help you or spend money out of my pocket other than money that's already been spent building antennas. I don't have a problem donating a couple of antennas to you but I'm not going to give them to you unless I know you are going to be successful at installing them and having them function the way they were intended to function. If I send you a couple antennas and you are unable to install them and make them function how is that going to help you?

Well that answers my last post..
If your happy thats all that matters...
Im not with mine but i guess ill have to live with it...
When i see people saying this idea works that well then ill have faith in this dipole idea...
Now with this fella who managed 1500 mi with same ant, coax, stud, radio tuned by mark all on the same truck..well i just like to see whats been done..compare notes sorta speak..See what things that mighta been done differently..
Maybe if i was actually in front of you or mark it would make a diff but im not...
Other than the dipole,i basically have tried all the same ideas with little luck so thats tells me im doin something different..Talked to some cb shops and they put their aa on it and tell me "lotsa guys out there wish they could get my results" and i gets shops who have told me thats as good as your ever gonna get...rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
All this ant theory that some of you use to say to me that it cant be measured with an aa well how the name of god do you know it work..ex this string of wire thats connected down by the pl259 ..No one ever said that i saw the differences..No one ever said how i tune a piece of wire but im guessing i just wrap it around the tip of a pl259 end screw it on a tuner and make it the length as req...Ok so now what..cant route it near the coax(impossible cause it connected to it) and where do i string it..Does other end get connected...
Someone mentioned wrapping coax a few turns then connect to ant....how many turns, tightly or loosly..again how will i know it works... -
As usual people and rabbi are misunderstanding what I'm saying hell he's given you the most available advice that can be given on the subject... I'm just not understanding why it is so easy to accomplish the dip pole deal.. and why you can't get it done ..of course I'm interested in your his results . Ive followed the posts for quite awhile now. i want the best for everyone------ you too be happy with your time $$$ and results you get achieved.... we all only live once don't worry be happy. Or something like that .....

I'm sure it was just a simple step that was missed or overlooked. I can't really be of much help unless I'm physically there at the truck or actually on the phone with you while you're standing there looking at the truck. That kind of limits our options because I'm only off Mondays and Fridays

I think Mark said 15 to 20 miles is as good as it gets with a single Predator 10-K on the driver side. That could easily be doubled by building an array off the rear of the truck but that involves money that you don't want to spend.
Mark and I do not contradict each other. We have different ways of doing things. My way is more complicated and accomplishes a different result his way is much simpler.
When I told you to use a longer shaft underneath your Predator antenna it was for greater efficiency and Mark would tell you I'm right. He would also tell you that it is structurally weaker and more prone to issues in the future.
Greater efficiency often comes at the expense structural integrity. My custom bracket for the back of the Cascadia overcomes all of the structural problems while maintaining maximum efficiency as well but it does come at a much higher cost.
Mark's solution is a careful balance between structural integrity and antenna efficiency compromising a little bit of antenna efficiency for the sake of long-term structural integrity while maintaining a low cost.Last edited: Jan 12, 2017

Not gonna bicker over he said, you said but i said what i said...I also wasnt gonna angle my ant 45 deg like i was told..
Speaking of expence, remember that top piece i had made for my 40" tall mount...Well from a local machine shop charged me $80 just for that..Imagine what that bracket will cost...
