I can't verify the truth to this, however, about 15 years ago, I bought my first truck to make deliveries for my company. When I got the insurance premium I nearly dropped thru the concrete floor! I called our agent and asked if this was a mistake. He laughed and said, "welcome to commercial trucks! In the world of vehicle insurance, trucks have the highest cost per mile associated with insurance losses. More than 10 times higher than cars."
If this is anywhere near true, I can see both the insurance companies and government targeting transportation, and specifically drivers, to reduce costs and losses.

BMI, Sleep Apnea, EOBR, speed limiters are/is only about putting money into the pockets of the companies "promoting" them in the name of safety!! Where is any unbiased scientific data that proves of actual real safety benefits??? There are none. All the studies that show any supposed safety benefits are all speculative and biased, far from scientific.
Since the USA is getting heavier and heavier every year (higher BMI) than the accident rates, deaths, ect., should also be raising...if you believe the "experts". When in fact the death rates are falling and at all time lows.

I went for my renew on the physical, the dumb nurse refused to let me take of my boots or empty my pockets (boots weigh dang near 10 lbs) anyways the doc comes in and says young man you are obese your bmi is 30 something. I said sir please look at me am I the worlds smallest obese man?

I wear size 32 jeans, medium shirts, and can run a 13 minute 2 mile, do 79 push ups in 2 min, 86 situps in 2 min. Dang I better go on a diet cause I am so obese. I also hit the gym pretty regular. Doctors are retarted these days. He'd rather look at papers and not the person.

Better yet I will stop driving and go to the circus and be the sideshow

Haha. I'm obese too according to BMI..and thats with nothing in my pockets, no shoes on. I'm 230 lb and 6'3. First of all, for whatever reason, driving for werner has made my arms bulk up with muscle...not a lot but more than i ever had before. Then I have big bones. A nice arse. Big brain.

    BMI is made up bull.

I wear 36 jeans and my belly sticks out a teeny bit but im gonna lose that weight if i can help it...but thats not going to make me not obese, lol.

I am over weight, but when I asked my Doc about the BMI chart he said it was BS from a medical POV.

I couldn't agree more. I'm 6'1" and I was 300#s. I'm a big guy naturally but I needed to loose weight. Years of trucking have taken a toll on me. I have never gotten a 1 year or less card but I started thinking about the fact that the BMI will be enforced sooner or later. I went to my doctor and I'm now on a weight management program and it's working well. Your advice to start loosing the weight now is spot on. Even if the BMI rule is never enforced do it for yourself and your family. I wish I had done it sooner.
