Im having a major issue priming the fuel system in my 3406E. All the priming steps say to remove fuel return on the back of the head, except i have a fuel cooled ECM and fuel from the primer flows backwards through the head. I crack the feed line to the head from the distribution block and i get lots of air, and cant get the hand pump to get hard. Both new fuel filters and new fuel lines.

You crack the return line at the filter base.
    Not the feed.

Ignore the the head. You do it from the return line on filter head. Crack that then crank the engine on the starter till u get no air out that fitting.
Tighten the fitting after all air is bleed out and it should fire.

You can do it on the primmer pump also but way easier on the starter. Faster too

    Oxbow Thanks this.
