I'm not trying to get out of paying dues or anything like that. I'm just wondering how people even get into the trucking line of business without going over the road with a mega carrier.?

Pay for a school, and start applying. Or dock to driver programs. Or get your A, take a local B job that also has A trucks. Prove yourself worthy of being moved up...

Pretty much any oilfield company will hire ya if they're busy and you've got a CDL. No OTR needed, but the good ones will want to talk to ya a while, go for a drive with ya, kinda feel you out and make sure you're not a dummy.

Most companies will ignore their "required experience" when they need a driver, or for a good applicant.

It will limit you if you wanted to go otr, many of the megas want a 160 hr corse ect.. but if your goal is local, it wont affect you.
