Optimal end dump pulling truck

when i was running end dumps we had mack themodyne with five speed i also used that same truck when i was hauling heavy equipment like cranes,dozers,trackhoes etc it would steady pull steep mountains in third

 

Any truck will NOT work, especially off road. I have seen too many cracked or broken frames from people using light weight highway trucks.

 

LMFAO the last east trailer I had was the biggest bag of #### I have ever pulled and it was 3 months old, the sides flex bad so you can't open and close the door, broken welds on the subframe, funny movements when dumping, the 5 year old MAC I have now still dumps better after being over twice.

My truck has 3.73s in 44 rears with an 18 and I've never had issues going into landfills at 99,000-117,000 depending where I am, it has a lot to do with the driver more then the truck, but I would still rather have heavier spec truck

 

Pulled an east Genesis now a Mac barrel and I'll take the east anyday better built just look at the welds and look at the arms when it goes up east is more stable.Idk what east you had but apparently someone switched the tagging on the trailer.

 

2015 east Genesis 40' spread, 72" walls, company bought 3 of them and they are all the same and have all gone back to east atleast once for repairs, If you are talking about the half rounds I'm not really a fan of those either

depends on your trailer. I was pulling a half round mac with a w900 Flat top 13 speed 600 hp 3406e n I could scale 26 ton.

 

Problem with that set-up that many people don't realize is that you cannot legally gross 80,000 pounds with the spread on a trailer that short unless you can put enough weight on your steers to make up for what you can't put on your drives and trailer axles. Federal bridge formula has an exception to allow 34/34 on the drives and trailer tandems IF axles 2-5 are at least 36'. A spread is a pair of single axles, NOT a tandem, and therefore axles 2-5 are limited to a lower weight per the federal bridge formula. You've got to have 39' between axles 2 & 5 before you can have 68K on those axles without the exception, and a 39 or 40' trailer just isn't going to get you there.

There is one exception to the use of the formula and table: two consecutive sets of tandem axles may carry a gross load of 34,000 pounds each—providing the overall distance between the first and last axles of such consecutive sets of tandem axles is 36 feet or more. For example, a 5-axle tractor-semi trailer may be used to haul a full 34,000 pounds on the tandem of the tractor (axles 2 and 3) and the tandem of the trailer (axles 4 and 5), providing there is a spacing of 36 or more feet between axles 2 and 5. A spacing of 36 feet or more for axles 2 through 5 is satisfactory for an actual W of 68,000 pounds even though the formulaor table computes W maximum to be 66,000 to 67,500 pounds for spacings of 36 to 38 feet. This special exception is stated in the Federal law."
