Snow sucks. Negative temps freeze yr nose hairs. Super singles are the devils joy in negative snow conditions.
You can boil eggs in the 12v water heater. Truck stop food is ####e. It's possible to gain ground with supersingles if you feather the throttle. Ice melt helps (only if you are standing still, der). Be prepared to hike so as to purchase ice-melt/ kitty litter, any flipping thing that will help those GD supersingles get traction.
Pack small, you will be living with your stuff upstairs. My trainer was fantastic, and graciously granted use of the top two spots they couldn't reach from their bunk. Pack wisely, as you might encounter crazy weather conditions. But you have to sleep with that same gear....
Driving these big dogs rocks, even with weather layovers. Find your happy place: Native casinos often have truck stops, shuttles, and hotels with exercise areas, pools & saunas. and Buffets yes, for after burning calories! Home less than 24hr, ready to roll out again!!!
Please add appropriate wisdom, while I watch the snow fall yet again

Interesting thoughts and great advice. Please continue to document your travails in the trucking world, as it is great entertainment and informative.
Boattlebot, Texas_hwy_287 and roadrunningx18 Thank this. -
I don't have enough posts to PM you, and until I'm cleared to run solo, I choose to not identify my employer. It's a growing reefer company out of Las Cruces/ El Paso area.Boattlebot, RedRover and Chinatown Thank this.

# # very much, for respecting a company who doesn't typically take on new drivers. Perhaps you are too good to have once walked in my shoes?Last edited by a moderator: Jan 15, 2017

Whoa Whoa Whoa! Such Hostility. I could be wrong but I don't think he was calling you a packrat.
KillingTime and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
PMs sent to the ###### & Chinatown; apparently I crossed the great divide. Woke up to yet more snow, but it wasn't in the sleeper of a supersingled rig

thank you for mediating. I'm here for the learning, nothing else.

I'm think he means an ex member named packrat.
