Synthetic engine oil

I know Mack.
But Australia is BIG place.
Some regions go extreemly hot while for instance the Blue Mountains can be cold.
You need both the lowest and highest temperature to determine which oil best suits him.
Hence my question to the OP.

We run 0w-40 synthetic year round. Winter we typically see -30 Celsius and summer we've seen it as high as 37 Celsius. Seen 1 complete engine failure in the last 2 years and we have around 100 pieces of diesel powered gear in our fleet.

 

In Australia they can get above 50celcius.

 

Agreed but if he is allways in the high temperatures,a 15W might be better.

 

Really it dont matter how hot Australia gets. These trucks are set up for this. They got big radiators to handle the higher ambient temps.
Now then the oil is cooled by the water via an oil cooler. Oil temps are only going to get so hot. Regurdless of out side temps the oil will only peak at a certain temp to a point.
Really all that is needed is a good quality synthetic . Its not like the oil temps going to keep on climbing and climbing.

 

Yeah I definitely wouldn't survive there.
