HMT is a small family owned company looking for Owner Operators.
We schedule at least 2 loads a day and when we can find them 3 loads.
One of the owners drives and has researched (AKA did the delivery personally) where to book to and from so dock delays are rare.
They are no touch loads, and rarely if ever not from a dock so the customer will use their pallet jack and fork lift.
Most of them are between 15 and 30 miles one way and pay to the O/O $200 per load returning empty for the next load.
Expect $400 a day and $2000 a week from 2 loads a day, one in the morning, one in the evening.
We only dispatch Monday through Friday local loads.
When I can schedule a 3rd load in the middle of the day, it's $600 a day.
A double booked "failed to accept" load (it rarely ever happens and HMT makes nothing on it) pays $150 to the O/O for their time and fuel.
The customer pays us back the lumper's fees if it is required at a DC.
All we do is local loads for now but are looking to do containers that pay more per load and go further, but you will be home every night.
We do schedule the loads a couple weeks in advance so you and your truck need to be reliable.
All we ask is to show up to work, be on time, deliver the load undamaged, drive safe, be polite and professional.
The math is simple, the hours are LEGAL.
The company name is strange but the work is steady.

Not to be a jerk, but you're going to need to raise those rates or make it d&h, because that rate per day is really really low. You're competing with companies who are getting guys $700+ day.

So, there are truckers doing local runs, home every night making something like $180,000 a year?
These rates are set by the 3PL's and I know it's not much, but if they were to haul 3 loads a day and the company gets nothing, so we are working for free, then their gross will be closer to $700 a day.
Where are these guys getting $700 and more a day?
That is about $60 an hour for driving a truck!
I need to quit and go work there!
Most that I see are just wasting time waiting to be loaded or unloaded and I can only assume they are from out of state doing long hauls making up the time on the road.
Some of the crappier places will take you 18 hours a day just to do 2 loads!
H.O.S. means nothing to them so you sit and wait.
I spent quite a few months filtering through all the crappy places we listed as to avoid like the plague.
I would love to make enough on loads to be able to pay drivers $700 a day, so where would that be?
