Start plugged in or unplugged. Truck doesn't care, either way.
Like snail said don't forget to unplug before you drive.

If your ground wire or hot wireis not conn. inside heater correctly after many years of use or non use, you can get a shock when you touch the truck in wet weather while its plugged in, an it can cook starter + jolt the ele. system with 120 volt

Unplug the #### thing before you start.

I spent years dealing with plugs for the engine block warmer. 120 cool volts waiting to kill you when you mashed that starter button that is metal on one hand with the other hand resting on the metal door...

We had air start in them days so batteries was not a concern.

For the block heaters. In the frozen north we have to plug in our trucks in if we shut them off overnight. Its hard on motors to crank on them when its -30 degrees.

Ahh! Makes sense now. I imagine if you don't have a block heater, you crank times would be over 30 seconds?
