I'm currently looking at the want ads. A company a few towns over from me is hiring for Local work. The lane is North Jersey to Toronto, home every night

Hey now, poor old SNI needs to turn enough profit to pay for those Packers season tickets! Playoff games are extra ya know!!
How many logbooks do they provide you with?
JOHNQPUBLIC and AM14 Thank this. -
But but... their trucks can drive on the Hudson River. Think about how much time I'd save not dealing with bridges. And the owner must not be ostentatious at all judging by his humble ride. Its all about priorities and putting profits back into the business ya know. The best part is that they have cute little bunnies on skateboards to greet me with healthy snacks when I enter the terminal after my 900 mile round trip. Seriously, who's 11 year old niece designed this website?Last edited: Jan 17, 2017
SingingWolf Thanks this. -
If they lived in upstate ny around halfway between Toronto and North jersey it could be done. Drive from the house to Toronto and back to the house 1 day and drive to jersey and back the next day.

Yea that would work but I didnt clarify the ad was listed for drivers in Parsippany, NJ where the terminal is. Parsippany to Toronto back to Parsippany. It's a Russian outfit go figure.

Had you asked @Chinatown ? He is the nexus of almost all good companies. He might be able to point several in your area out to you. LTL isn't a bad gig. There should be a ton of tanker work there as well
AM14 Thanks this. -
I haven't bugged him since I'm not looking to make a move just yet. Just feeling the waters for now. Yea there's a ton of ltl work and tanker. Im in a good spot for that no doubt. I just dont want to be doing p&d in nyc for the rest of my life. My hometime parking spot is at Carbon Express in Wharton, NJ and their drivers sound quite happy there. I know they require 2 years but I'll ask about it next time I drop a check in the office. Superior Carriers has a terminal up the road and obviously theres a million companys around the ports but thats a bit further from me.
Estes and Conway are close by but I'm gun shy of conway/xpo whatever it is now with all the changes I've been hearing about. If i did ltl it would have to be linehaul. Our area is all on heating oil and propane too so I'm not ruling out any straight truck gigs. Most of them are starting in the low to mid 20's. Although I'd probably lean towards propane since it is steadier throughout the year. Once I narrow in on what I want to do, I'll start doing more homework and consult the expert.Last edited: Jan 18, 2017
