Maybe he met a nice girl up there. Gonna homestead.
    Maybe start a family. ......

Or he found out the real money is in gold mining. ..

Maybe he's panhandling until he gets enough fuel money to get back home.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

This was an interesting thread while it lasted. I keep checking back in to see if OP updates us. I'm looking for the next chapter. Something like he sold his truck when he unloaded and is off to join "Deadliest Catch".

I got a tire repaired in Watson Lake YT on my way up to Alaska this week. The old man told me about a Landstar driver pulling a van that came up this winter. Everyone told him not to try and go further but this Landstar newbie didn't listen and about 100 miles up the road the truck froze up. The driver left it parked in the middle of his lane and got a ride back to Watson Lake. The Highway patrol contacted the old man about 2 am and wanted him to come out with the wrecker and pull the truck and trailer back to Watson Lake. The old man refused saying it was too cold to deal with that tonight and he would go up tomorrow after it warmed up some and bring it back. The old man said everything was froze up on the truck and the battery was dead. The bill ended up being several thousand dollars which this guy didn't have and when he called Landstar they fired him for being so stupid.

This story has all the makings of a trucking song.

Anyone else ever notice that most of the trucking songs are about guys who screwed up?
