What's it like out of spring valley, IL? Where in Chicago do you go? I drive Chicago truck rail now, but it's night at all drop and hook and no traffic. Can't imagine going into Chicago in the day time.

I'm not explaining to anyone why my brakes weren't set while I was sleeping. I'll just sleep in a hotel on the company's dime.
You've been working here a month or two now, but safety is the name of the game at this place. Taking chances is over.drozzer69, Pharroh336 and TomOfTx Thank this. -
CA does this all the time. They approve an APU and make everyone get one. Then, 5 or so years later, that one is no longer legal, and you have to buy a new one that is legal............. and will be good for a few years until they change their minds again. I don't know how the OO's can do it. These things are expensive.drozzer69 Thanks this. -
Oh, for folks concerned about prescription costs when using name brand medications, this is what I do. I have to use Symbicort for my asthma. Even with the insurance, it would run me about $75 a month, because it has an actual cost of over $300. I just printed my new coupon from AstraZeneca for 2017. It is free of charge, and will completely cover my copay. So, my Symbicort will cost me $0 per month this year. Last year it was $25, so this is an even better deal.
You only have to present it to your pharmacy once, where you turn in your prescriptions. So, it is very pain free.
Most expensive, name brand meds have programs like this. The only real requirement for mine was that I had commercially purchased insurance. It didn't matter that I already take it, and wasn't a new customer.drozzer69 Thanks this. -
I have owned 4 trucks with ECMs and cruse control, as someone else mentions the parameters on the ECM can be set many different ways, On diesels they need to be idled up to about 1000 rpm during idling for long periods,,this will make complete burning of the fuel and keep the engine at operating temps,, you need to speak with your supervisor to get the authorized method to keep warm or cold while in the sleeper,, their truck their say,
No matter what you should have enough bedding to stay warm if you have a break down and can't use the truck or APU to stay warm,,things happen so be prepared,
