I have been here for 2.5 years and for more than 2 of them, I ran Indy to Romulus, MI. Im not sure where you get all this crap that you are spewing about this run. But the facts are that you were allowed 6 hours and expected to do it in 5.5 hours, and most of the time I ran it in 5 hours. Also, anybody who runs for this company knows that you NEVER dispatch yourself until you are ready to go and have done your inspections. Facts are that most of the time you Romulus drivers didnt even get to Indy until well after 1am anyhow and so Im not sure what you are complaining about, in fact none of you was ever written up or disciplined fopr being a little late. Also door to door miles going I69, US 24, US 23, I94 was 286 miles, going I69 to I94 was 317 miles. You were paid for 276(thanks to me. You used to be paid 266, until I proved to them that they were way off).
You Romulus drivers were released from Indy usually before I was released from Romulus and I dont recall waiting 4 hours more than twice. I was only held up there twice last winter because of the snow storms.
We no longer run to Romulus, since it is now an endline and Lansing, MI is the AC hub.
Just like the guy here that talked about how great Mark there was, and how they just fired him with no regards for him. You may want to talk to the drivers, because there was a big party among them when he got canned-beleive me--drivers wanted to kill that guy. He would have your loads ready at 11:30pm and not cut them until 3am--because "he didnt have to". I dont know any drivers who lost any sleep when he was canned.
Where else can I make almost $1400 a week and be home every day and weekends and have 2 weeks vacation at 2.5 years seniority? I will live with BS, if you cant handle these guys then I doubt seriously you can handle much else. I have dealt with way worse, and beleive me, these guys are pussycats in the industry compared to some other companies. As far as the 60mph truck--I just sit back and get there when I get there, pretty hard to get a ticket at those speeds, so my chances of screwing up my license arent very good.

When I was looking for work, I had went there following some buddies from Werner. I made the mistake of being professional and giving them my resume that had a lot of Union references on it. I physically saw the terminal manager twice who would "call" personnel only to tell me that there was a problem retrieving my records. Found out later they're afraid they may get organized and have to get their #### together!:biggrin_25520:

I work for Central here in the northeast and I have to agree with most that the hours exceed dot regulations. I put in over 80 hours in 6 days just linehauling and the pay is terrible. I spend most of my time waiting on my loads and the dock is a joke. All I ever here is we don't have enough forklift's and I even had my terminal manager send one to a terminal I do turn arounds and they give it to someone else. This is not a complaint this is true fact. The interviewers make promises they don't keep. I only get paid by the dolphin when I am on the dock other wise it is used to see how long it takes me to go from one terminal to the next. The further I go the less money I make per mile. Anyone who say's this company is great to work for must be a wheel holder and has no clue how hard long time drivers have been fighting the industry for decent wages for them. I have turned this company in because of the hazards and OSHA warn's them they are comming and gives them time to prepare. I realize they have an edge on the industry right now because of people out of work but this is rediculous.

I've been with them for some time. Not the best and not the worst. I could give you 12 reasons not to work for them. But as long as the checks are clearing i'll stick around till something else opens up. I've got a few years pup's experience to get me in the door.
CT is just one of the lower quality carriers and they pay that way. Biggest concerns are the poor make/break pay, no direct deposit, poor equipment (at times VERY unsafe), waiting for hours and not getting paid and still expecting to cook the books.
There is a reason that you can jump up in seniority so quick at this company. Your tissue. Once your used your thrown away, but unless you screw up big time, you can leave when you want. Most of the local managment is pretty good to work for and loyal.
I'll be interested in seeing how they fair with this sca2010 thing coming out. If ups, fedx and others are much higher then them how can they justify their lower score without lowering their prices.
local pd and dot know the piss poor equipment and how long it takes to get help when you break down.

But it is better then OTR. Just don't expect to stay at this company for life. Make your money and move on.
