I'll take the ELD's. I believe in the small business, and it's ability to conquer and over come obstacles. Hence the very reason we are so much more productive, safe, responsive, and efficient over the mega's. As a small carrier I will adapt and make the necessary changes to win, the right way. That's why I get up everyday. I'm tired of all the cheating that goes on in the industry.

The industry is it's own worst enemy.

From a small carrier point of view. It's not cheating it's adapting to the situation to keep my business successful.

It's breaking the law. I'm sure all the "Chicago" outfits feel the same way.... Their are a number of them in my area that have helped to drive steel rates into the ground. Whether you agree with the rules or not you should abide by them. If you disagree then you take that fight to the steps of "city hall". Instead you're taking that fight to the others in the industry. Why should you have to work that many hours to survive?

I agree the rules are not great, and they need improvement. But I implore you to take the fight to the government and not cheat each other out of business.

It would take more than a regulatory freeze, it's already law.

Well, while the mandate in MAP-21 from congress is law and directed the FMCSA to implement this at some point in time, the ELD mandate now out is in fact a regulation or "rule". It can be rescinded or revamped without congressional approval like a law requires. But it is going to take the heavy hand of someone in the gooberment to get the FMCSA to do that. Not convinced that Elain Chao is the one who would do it, and we will have to see who gets the FMCSA appointment. Either way, don't expect a lot anytime soon.

No ELD here, and disconnected the satellite because it kept making a beep beep beep sound. Told the company you'll know where i am when it matters.
