    That video shows a typical set of circumstances with a class C amplifier. A typical install without an amplifier is much less complicated.

    To the original poster Bavile, personally I would not use your CB setup for now.
    .When you get back to the terminal or home time, see if you can borrow, for testing purposes only, a 4 foot antenna and run your own coax from the mount on the drivers door through the open window to the radio. Check your SWR using an external SWR meter and see what you get.
    .Next hook the truck's coax to the 4 foot antenna and using an external SWR meter see what you get.
    .This will give you and us a better starting point to troubleshoot your setup.

    Xcis....Dont worry to to much about swr..Soooo many make it seem swr is the end all be all and its not...All swr is basically is to see reflected power goin back from ant to radio..
    Yes it is a basic guide not to the op,dont put all your faith in swr..

    I have killer swr/resonance #'s but cause of the lack of ground plane i can only get 5-8 miles....Tons more to it than just swr..
