I use Pacific Custom Brokers. They got me bonded, did my PAPS and PARS labels, ACI manifest and the A8A forms and labels. Great folks and quick and friendly service. They offer different plans for doing your paperwork.
I usually just have intransit through Canada and I do those myself and no extra cost. You can get intransit forms at border or order from CBSA. -
I'm curious are you a Canadian Bonded carrier?
I've run Canada quite a bit but when I looked into taking a load to Alaska this summer I was told to be able to run though Canada on a intransit manifest, that I had to be a bonded carrier. Or run under someone else's bond.
Pacific Customs Brokers was one that I checked with about running under their bond. I want to say it would have been $5-600 dollars a trip and that the actual paperwork would have to be express mailed. It couldn't just be faxed to a person. So I'd be waiting days for it to show up.Ruthless Thanks this. -
I venture to guess you are not talking about entry into Canada as a US citizen but rather an authority to operate in Canada, which one is it?

Old Iron, check out Percy H Davis in North Portal for in transit forms and bond. Last few trips I made to AK I used them. Cost for using their bond was $150 during business hours, they charge extra for holidays and after hours.
Old Iron Thanks this. -

I'm a US owner op based in Ohio and want to be able to haul steel and machines in to Canada.

Trucking...not vacation. I already go there for that...so I have my passport.
I really just want to pay someone $700.00 and have them say, "carry this in your cab and stick this on your truck and have a nice day hoser."Ruthless Thanks this. -
Call 730 permits. They set all my authority both cdn and usa up. Shouldn't be too expensive. Also should probably contact your insurance regarding coverage in Canada since it's new to your business plan. Should not be a big deal. Don't let them try to sell you on their extras. Just use 730 to get you legal as far as authority goes. Call LMT Border assistance in Lasalle Ontario. Ask for Linda. She will help you with ace and aci manifests and all border crossing paperwork. She only charges 7$ per trip I think, she knows all the answers about border crossing. Don't use 730 permits for the border stuff.
The border clowns can and do dig for any and all information to ruin your day and not let you in the country. Lots of drivers find this out when they are taking a load to Canada but not when they enter to spend money as a vacationer. If you get stranded in Detroit with a load going to Canada all is not lost. It'll cost you about $1000 usd to get it delivered if you want to go that route should you ever find yourself in that situation.Mattflat362 Thanks this.
