Those last words or wording at the end are extremely true.. very hard to gauge what equipment your receiving end is getting thru too...

Lets get my basic set up goin before we start adding balns or what ever..
Ill have to google the lil wee mag mount and see if that will accept a screw on ant..Got my doubts though..

Speakin of mag mount..Gotta bug mark to send me a bill so i cant pay for my sirio mag mount upgrade and my 955..I asked him to bill me a week or two or 3 ago but no word..

In that case it's the body of the truck. I incorrectly use the same word counterpoise for the ground element of a dipole also.
I use that word counterpoise incorrectly to describe the negative half of an antenna system

Im sure ill be set str8 if im wrong but as i know it an antenna needs to electrically see a mirror image of itself 180 degrees away from itself...That may be the 2nd part of a dipole(basically one ant up and one ant down) or lets keep it simple and say the roof of a car...
If you were to put a mag mount ant in the middle of a cars roof, the roof is now the counterpoise or as the antenna will see a mirror image of itself..Also know as ground plane...
Ground plane is not a wire from your mount to a battery or chassie..

Trust me we all do at times... driving a truck involves a whole lot more stress than most people realize even the drivers themselves.... most people have no idea what a hard life is at all. If they drove a truck to make a living $$$ then they would get a clue...
