I guess I'm a new driver..I've been doing this for almost 2 years now. So close to being able to get a better job but not themre. Knock on wood, I have no incidents, no tickets. I'm 43 years old and was at the same job for 21 years before doing this. Since I started in this industry I've been to 4 companies now. I hate the this cause it makes me look bad. And it cost me money to switch every time. But it seems that all these companies are the same. They run you good for about 3mo, then the miles get lower. So much that I get behind on my bills and the small paychecks doesn't make it worth my while to stay out this long. My sister Has been doing this for 23yrs. But she had a husband that she teamed with for years..that's 2 incomes. I can't afford this! I really don't know what to do. I don't know whether to stick this company out till I get the two yrs "verifiable" cause it will be a few months but yet my bills will not wait till then..Someone please give me some kind of advice cause I am really starting to hate this crap from these companies. thanks

I got my licence in March of 15 with Prime. Took 2 months off then went to PTL..for a month..they are just plain retarded. Then I went to work for a local company Woody Bogler, which I loved. I was home every weekend, but the main guy in the maintenance controls the owner. I finally got a new truck..2017 pete..automatic. it went in for its first pm and they done something to the truck that when the cruise is on, if you go 1mph over the setting, it kicks into neutral and the engine brake don't work..they spun me for a month saying they were gonna change it and didnt..so my sister advised me to quit cause they were gonna screw me if I stayed. I now work for Transland since beginning of September..it's going downhill. I am trying my hardest to push this out. I will have 2 yrs "verifiable" in may cause I took that month and half off. I want to find something local or have a company that can give me a reason to stay out here. And $400- $600 a week isn't gonna pay my bills.

Maybe this job just isn't for me..I do my job..I keeps these doors closed and make my apps. My kids are all grown and gone. My oldest finished a degree at the university in Missouri and tells me to go back to school but I can't afford that and the idea of going back to school is probably not gonna happen at almost 44yrs old. To go back and spend time with kids..blah!! not gonna happen. But I might not have any other choice, I guess..lol

We have 2 trucks that the jake doesn't work if the cruise is on, and i dont mean just when the button is pushed. The over setting thing is not much different. The shop probably set it to company mode instead of o/o spec...

You're just driving for the wrong companies. Where is your location/ state & nearest city?
    Do you have endorsements?
Are you pulling flats or reefers?
