Yeah..already have a TWIC card..I'm supposed to go in this thurs to take hazmat test and then go get fingerprinted. I was told it takes a while to get your letter so u can get the endorsement put on. I've dealt with hazmat at my job for the state of Illinois that I had for 21years before doing this. I've practiced and read all..down to 100% on all the practice tests..

OK, you're in a good position now. Get hazmat and you're in the money.

You'll love tanker work; especially hazmat because that's where the money is.
    Keep us posted!
Just in case; here's some info that's not tanker:
Danny Herman Trucking - no northeast or New York City. Real long runs 1400 miles or so, and mostly drop & hook. Lots of Texas border towns and southern California.
K&B Transportation - guaranteed minimum weekly income of $1125.00 and you can make more, but not less.
Holland Enterprises - long runs 1400 miles plus.

If I may make a suggestion being close to St Louis. Beelman would probably stick you in a dump. Money wasn't as good as for us pneumatic guys. I moved over to WW Transport. Terminal out of Wood River. Close to Alton. You could be home quite regularly I would think with either. No need to run the road to make good money. I always made just as good as money running local with pneumatics as I do the weeks I run the road.

Yeah..I had family work for them..most those guys can be jerks too at beelman. I guess I need to find a company that would train me on tanker..I have never messed with a tanker before but I'm up to learning new things..money is a big plus!! Just like anyone else. I just hate sitting and sitting!

Looks like you're looking for a job where you can make good money without having to wait years to reach top rate or start off on call extra board. With 2 years experience, a lot of doors will open up for you, but the job hopping may hurt you though.

Don't know if you're strictly stuck on tankers only, but if you can get a doubles endorsement, try looking into LTL. Estes and ODFL have terminals in St Louis. Estes linehaul regional drivers are starting off making around $1500 a week. You can also see if there's an Ashley Furniture distribution center near you. LTL side potentially can make over $90k. Mail Contract Carriers is anouther option, such as Eagle, MTI, MCA, B&B, Finkle, Ling, etc. and $75k + is obtainable. Frito Lay starts you off around $75k and $100k is not unheard of. And depending on if there's a Grocery Company near you, like SuperValu, ACME, ShopRite, etc. you can make over $100k.

    Good luck and best wishes.

I'm with WW currently. So far better than Beelman. Don't get me wrong I did good money wise at Beelman but the management was declining in the time I was there. Working out of Wood River for WW is pretty nice as we only have 50-60 drivers out of this terminal. You can talk to dispatch face to face when you're there and get ahold of them pretty well any time of day any day of the week. We are in somewhat of a slow season right now but that shouldn't last too much longer.

But to add to it, HQ is in Burlington, IA.
