Thanks. I've been meaning to check into becoming a bonded carrier myself, but it got put on the back burner.
Originally I filed everything with Canada myself. And use Blue Ridge International only for border crossing EDI's.
How much did it cost you to begin with and what are the yearly costs?

I'm not sure, the border transponder I know I could do myself. The Quebec stuff I don't care to learn French to know how to do that. The transponder is now up to 400 usd or so plus 730 fees and whatever they claim the exchange rate is...

Yea that is pretty much it.
LMT for the border fee is $7 or $8 + $1 or $2 per extra shipment on the same truck. 730 charges $10 per shipment.

How much Canada work are you planning on doing?

The three year custom bond is $800.00 Canadian an then it depends if you want PARS and PAPS labels, ACI and A8A forms and labels. You have to get a SCAC code too. I want to say it was around $1000.00 to $1500.00 all in. pacific customs can print your labels and has different programs for the border crossings.

Thanks. I was expecting the bond to be more than that. I've run Canada quite a bit but have had to turn down a few loads that were running under carrier bond. And came awful close to having a load on the trailer bound for Alaska and not being able get their with someone else's bond.

Honesty I have no idea and no freight planned...I just want to be able to say I can...and then see what happens. I love flat bedding and see no reason not flatbad some stuff to my neighbors, eh!
