People wonder why we have so much problems within this industry, those who have to act like it is important to deliver when their truck is defective is one such issue.

I talk to most of my drivers weekly, and one was telling me about picking up at a warehouse in Atlanta last Monday. In pulls this clown with a newer FL and it was knocking really bad. Parks, letting it idle and steam is coming out of the hood, the guy walks into the dock office to get his dock assignment and then he pulls into the dock right next to my driver. It is making a racket, obviously a rod knock.

SO they get loaded, they are both in the dock office signing their paper work and my driver and another both ask this clown if he knows his truck can't really haul with a rod knock, he turned to them and said "well I saw the oil drop so I pulled into the nearest truck stop, put in a couple gallons of oil and some lucas, I thought it would be good ... ten minutes more it was making this noise but I don't care (he used other words) because it ain't my truck". My driver was the last to leave and saw this guy half way down the on ramp onto 75 with the truck just bellowing out steam and oil. He said he guesses he put the rod through the block.

Lost all the service brakes on a loaded B-train (140,000 lbs) one time... I would have liked to be able to pull over and stop.

    Nope. :biggrin_25523:

They're allowed access to telephones, at least in that sect. It just can't be inside the house.
