    Ground straps should be used between the shortest distance of known good ground and your antenna bracket or mirror arm assuming the connection between your bracket and the arm is always good for example stainless steel bracket on a stainless steel arm

    Sometimes a connection is made to ground out the ant..The off time ill have ice or a ton of rain connecting my top of ant stud to the bottom part..Suddenly my swr shoots up and protection circut kill my transmit..
    Just for fun i wrapped a lil electrical tape around the top part of the ant stud and fixed that issue

    I discovered that the washers on my door hinges were painted..Never thought to look at the inside part of the washer..might be why im gettin all zeros on my ohm meter when looking for ground..

    The washers dont come off the bolt..Thats why i didnt notice..
