Consolidated in Bryson City is staffed by a bunch of mouth breathing, barely functional inbreds who spend as much time joking and hollering with each other as they do actually going about the business of unloading/loading trucks.

They sent me to a barely accessible door at the back of the facility, forcing me to spend a good 10-15 minutes CAAAAARREFULLY spinning the rig around with racks and containers stacked everywhere (must have gotten out four times to check clearances), only to come out and tell me "Oops, we goofed, you're supposed to be at the front docks to unload first," which forced me to blind side into the dock up front in narrow confines because the drive was blocked by the time I got back up there from the rear docks.

Then I get to serpentine back through the narrow obstacle course to return to the rear docks to reload because the line about them unloading and reloading me in the same door was an outright fabrication. Just like the appointment times I was given.

 

After I was finally in the correct door the forklift driver spent a solid ten minutes loudly kidding around with a coworker before boarding his machine to begin work.

YOU GUYS DO REALIZE I'M STANDING RIGHT HERE WATCHING YOU, RIGHT?

Now he's working. And fairly quickly I might add. Think he saw me facing him and typing into my phone, and got a little nervous.

 

I was visibly upset when I got the "Oops, we goofed" because of putting my equipment at risk unnecessarily.

 

Got two older guys working my truck. The young guys I saw goofing off earlier are gone. Wonder if I caught them right at shift change....

 

Headed to Denton TX to drop Peterbilt parts at the factory tomorrow then pick up my mess at the Walmart up the street. Spending the night then whatever they give me for Saturday.

Good to be back in the groove.

Now I need some Immodium. Industrial strength.

 

Country ham and eggs with wheat toast. Coffee. Diet Coke. Spaceway truck stop in Meridian MS has some great breakfast.

Time to hit the latrine, bust out a pretrip, and knock out the 520 miles to final. I have until 1800.

 

Dropped last night. Can't pick up for 3 more hours.
