if anyone is looking for a job in the northwest stay away. They have a big fred meyer contract in Puyallup , WA that they are begging for local drivers for. Heres the bit. Mr jack off recruiter tells me it is a day shift early morning start , pays great ( 55k to 65k ) , and that he will get me a weekend day off like a sunday monday so i can see my kids which i made clear is the only time i see them is weekends.

I went to a 3 day orientation in Portland , OR and they wouldnt show on paper anything about the pay schedule other than what i said above. Said i would have to iron it out in Puyallup when i started.

I get home and call in to set up a first day. manager tells me the pay is about half what i was sold on unless i was really good and could do 3 trips a night. also no way would i get a weekend day unless someone died or left. an it is all night work for me. then he informs me that the recruiters are always off and out of 10 guys he gets sent maybe 2 stay around.

Oh and the best one yet ? the 3 grand sign on they tax the crap out of and ya end up with maybe 1800.00. told them to piss off and take me off the books.

I don't think you understand how taxes work. The company does not tax you. You can thank your SJW welfare-state government in WA and the IRS for that.

The sign on bonus should have told you
    Nobody else wanted the job.
Fast food joints don't even have to trick
    Somebody to work for them.

The guy said 55 grand to 65 grand first year out of the gate. 27.50 gate , 20 bucks a load if ya unload yourself , 10 bucks a stop ( 2 on each trailer ) , 6 bucks to make or break the doubles and 40 cents a mile. According to the terminal manager thats right but new guys are lucky to get more than one load a shift ( 120.00 ) until they learn the stops and such. Not even worth it when ya figure 12 hour days.

^^ That sounds about right. Reel them in with the big projected theoretical anual income then once on the hook hit them with the reality of low miles and substandard piece work pay.

Looks like they got about 250 mile or less round trips and lots of cheap driver unloads.

Way less than 250 mile trips. Most of tge freight runs into seattle. Maybe 40 miles each way.

But you guys on here always preaching to the newbies to stay away from the Megas and how bad they are seems to me the small companies are just as bad I mean I seen my share of bad company blogs over the last 3 years and the megas make up less than 50% of the complaints
