No one took their land; they're immigrants from Asia and DNA tests prove it. They took the land.

Cali leaving the union, what a hilarious idea! Who do they think they are, Texas? Texas does have a clearer path to that. But seriously, when you calculate California's wealth as you would any other entity you must factor in debt. I'm not sure they can even surpass Arkansas' wealth. The last I heard, it was in the billions.I honestly cannot see California sustaining itself w/o the U.S.. Just my fairly informed opinion.

Many working class and wealthy people are leaving California and being replaced by $15.00 hr. hamburger flippers. Many are moving to Nevada and Texas due to no personal income taxes and many are moving to Arizona.

I actually looked into it once, (a state leaving the union), and even Texas has to have approval from 3/5's of the States to do so. I'm no expert but I think that is what I read. I mention Texas because of it's unique, (to other states), history as it once was a republic. I'm pretty sure no other state is allowed to display their flag as prominently as the American flag. They actually display their flag at same height as the American flag. That 3/5' s rule applied to Texas and I believe other states have much more red tape in their way.

I'm not at all surprised and whatever else happens within the next week or two with our country, lol.I don't think this is what Trump was expecting.

I stare confused at some of the things said about California, about not being able to sustain themselves without the support of the the 48, and how they would go dark without importing power, and something that we get our water from other states??

Since we, between the major western ports sending most of the Asian shipping through the state, the tech industry, and being the fruit and vegetable producer for the world, have a higher GDP than any other state, as far as I know (and probably than several other states put together), I don't think we would do too bad on our own. Plus the whole not having to send taxes to the feds would offset a lot!

We also have some of the biggest rivers in the country, and most of the big city water comes from the Sierra's (which also make it not likely we import much from out of state... Donner is one of the easier places to get over them after all lol)

And while we do share power production with other states, we have enough power generation capability to take care of things pretty well, between extensive hydro, solar, wind, nuclear, as well as standard power plants.
And if there was a shortage, I am sure it would quickly be covered with new solar or something.

I do not expect there is a chance it would happen, because our taxes support the welfare and grants and such in many other poorer states, and so it would not be in the country's best interest to let us go, but don't scoff at our ability to go it alone!
