I should have rephrased that maybe how are current owner operators looking at the next 3 years. Is there major changes you see you are going to have to make?
-
Major change? No. Electronic log will be a small hiccup but will be for everyone. Doing business as if I was on it already and 95% of the time everything is fine. Business as usual.
dream$ Thanks this. -
Electronic log books already make stay more on the east side of Mississippi River, even though I don't use them yet, but I want to aquire new style of the game ahead of time, which is more regional. In three years, the long haulers, who now do 1000 miles a day, will be long gone. It will be more regional for solos. Teams will be in high demand for long hauls though. New equipment will not be affordable for spot market freight, I don't think it is now either. So used equipment and low cost operations will be the key to compete. Cheap freight is not going away, too many want to do this. Maybe, if someone is super specialized, will have easy life. But what specialty it would be is the key to success.
dunchues and Mattflat362 Thank this. -

The other issue is who has $5k a month to pay for it? -

There will be $10B dollars worth of building materials hauled to the southern border.
