I would think that taking 70 to 7 would be the best route anyway given that you have a bunch of towns to go through if you jump onto 22 from 7. I figure it would take longer to run 22 than it would be to head all the way to the river.

43 is fun when empty lol. Driving that road out of or into Wintersville loaded is a pain in the ### though. Pulling up those hills in 6th or 7th at maybe 20-25 mph is kind of annoying.SingingWolf Thanks this.

yeah, 70>7>22 is the easiest
If you want a more scenic route from 270, take 161 East (161>16>US36>US250>US22), mostly 4 lane and you go through 8-9 lights, really doesn't add much time when you're governed at 60.
To/from the north, 22 west to 250 to 77. Screw 43
edit
According to Google from Columbus to Wintersville:
70>22- 138 miles
161: 150 miles
70>7>22: 158 milesLast edited: Jan 29, 2017

Well, sure. Getting into wintersville isn't sooooo awful. It's certainly more annoying than say... gordonsville.
However, what would make me pause is wondering just where the stores you'll be driving to are. -
Northeast Ohio, western pa up to Erie over to Clarion I-80 exit 62. Northern West Virginia down to Summerville. Worst store getting to would be Kingwood WVFriday and SingingWolf Thank this.

I mean, that sounds like some of my most favorite roads! Especially heavy and in the winter! Best driving stuff right there.gentleroger, milehunter43 and Coover Thank this.
