They are screwing you.
I am a 1 truck show and I get a flat .10 off at pfj, .045 at loves ta/p, in Canada I pay roughly whatever the price is for gasoline, in usa my best discounts are small chains like kwik trip sapp and Speedway...I'm talking .20 to .50 off cash price. Right now it's about .20... at times it is very lucrative ..it fluctuates.. ask them if you buy your own fuel and provide a report will that work. I have a feeling they will say no because they enjoy taking money off you for every gallon you burn ..
ifta problem with company

i ask them either open fuelcard at all fuel retailers,or i can purchase cash fuel where i get it cheep.but company says they have to give volume to pilot/flyingj for discounts -
Actually the opposite is true. With respect to any type of fee or tax it is best to owe some amount at the deadline by which it is owed. If you are getting a refund it simply means you have overpaid and have given an interest-free loan to whatever entity you are getting the refund from.RollingRecaps Thanks this.

The volume thing is true but THEY AREN'T PASSING IT ON TO YOU!!!!
I get flat .10 whether I buy some or all and my monthly volume even at 100% wouldn't even register with Pilot!!!!! You are giving them tons of your money dude
I say pay cash at duty free and turn in your receipts
Then when they say you owe .28 per gallon I think for Michigan fuel tax say go ahead, you haven't paid that .28 anyway. You are being bent over -
I was going to say the same thing about better to have them owe me... I always have to pay in, I buy it where the fuel is the best price, and it it's the same in 2 states I'll pay the lower tax and pay them later...government has its hands deep in my pockets already they can wait a while... they sure drag their feet coughing up my hst rebate every quarter and I don't get to charge them interest... nevermind they spend it like drunken ####### anyway

is there any legal way i can get my money back, they deduct because of there mis-calcualtions
-
Likely not. They will say it is part of the 'perk' for you for them floating you your fuel money.. the only risk you run if you have your own card is if they go under you will have paid out your own money for fuel while eating to collect payment for loads which won't happen because they went under. That is your gamble, but your roi would be very quick from what you save...
Are they paying you per mile or %? Dry van right? -
getting payed per mile, dry van -
How does it work if you pay cash for fuel when they deduct money? Let's say you have one fuel purchase for 100 gallons in a state with .25 fuel tax and the pump price was 2.25 so you paid $225.00
They aren't adding the 100 gallons to the fuel credit to their ifta account? Even if you used their card the same amount 225.00 is deducted....right? Or are they saying ok you bought 100 gallons but we are deducting the fuel tax of 25.00 from you...? How exactly is it working. -
when I get my ifta detail sheet that shows all the fuel (by state) and milage in every state.I find they did not add my cash purchase in that ,they add fuel I puchase with there fuelcard only.
I buy cash fuel on 401 at huskey but they did not add that fuel.I spend more to buy fuel in canada just because I can save ontario ifta. pay ifta at pump and also deducted by company.
