I recently purchased a 880 hid kit for my fog lights (Apparently the kit is designed not to blind other drivers), but after install i keep getting a fog light fault code for abnormally high current or voltage. When i unplug one of the lights and clear the code, the other light turns on. At this point if i plug the other side back in, either both lights will go out, or when im lucky both sides turn on. My HID kit is not canbus as i was able to run my low beams without canbus ballasts and didnt think i would need them. Is there any way i can trick the LCM into not cutting off power to the fog circuit? Thanks

Looks like you buy the wrong hid kit
    Some 55w
    Some 35w
Wrong kit will bring the faultcode

What I did with mine is I got a relay. Pretty much on the volvos whenever you install one fog light hid the other one doesn't work.
Those were 6k with 35watt ballasts. My new ones are also 6k with 35watt ballasts on the new truck
