    if the egr valve is stuck open the performance and mileage will be low , as far as the oil leak at the pass though they make a harness patch just for the 12d , it will stop the leak , i have done about 20 of them and it does work
    the egr valves if you buy one the reman ones are better then new , if the truck has a lot of miles on it you might want to just replace the harness ,on the harness the wire just sit inside the cover and get rub spots on them and short out or go open

    Check those two tiny wires next to the red cable on the alternator, Mine was butt connected and was lose replacing it took care of it..
