I recently bought a 2014 Volvo 780 with a cummins engine. I have only hauled two loads with it but I am having serious issues with the steer weight.

I do have an apu on the truck hauling a 53 ft reefer trailer and my unloaded weight with the 5th wheel all the way slid back (I also had my mechanic move the entire 5th wheel 10 inches further back) my weight is
    steer : 12,240
    drive: 14,380
    trailer: 10,100
    THIS IS EMPTY!! ;(

that's with only a 1/4 tank of fuel. My tires are rated at 6,175 lbs each. I am truly at a loss for what to do. the two loads I have hauled were less then 40,000lbs (37,000lb and 35,000lbs) and the lowest I could get my steer axel was 12,540 lbs.

please please any help with this is so appreciated I'm just trying to get myself where I don't spend 2 to 4 hours at the truck stop playing with my weight sending my log into a #### show any dot officer will see thru.

I've heard you're fine till 13000 on steers... Might not be much you can do

You are legal to haul 13200 on 11" tires if your front axle is rated for it.

Not with only 12,350 lbs in tire weight rating.

You can not exceed the weight rating of the weakest component.

I am definitely considering changing the tires but realistically all this will do is possibly stop them from writing me an over weight ticket (possibly still writing it depending on which side of the bed they woke up on) I am also considering that the heavy steer will create open season to call me in to #### with every little inch of my truck which I would love to avoid at all cost.

I am so curious if this is something other Volvo 780 owners are going thru.
Any Volvo 780 owners cummins engine with an apu having the same problem

I am starting to feel like I'm the only one in the world :crybaby:

Only need to worry about scales on state routes with low steer axle weight. Look in front of your big map book. Has all the info you need. If you live on the interstate you are fine.
