Yeah I know never knew that much about a ab amp other than they take a really low deadkey like all Texas star amps

It's kind of hard to generalize.
How much carrier is required to drive the amplifier is determined by the number of transistors in the amplifier and how those transistors are biased. -

Class ab amps always use a very low deadkey aka Texas star..... class c 15/20 watts is all that's needed for the radio to swing what it's got into the amp.....

Every amplifier has limitations and you need to stay within those limitations.
there is always a mathematically correct way of doing things. -
and multiply that number by the amount of transistors. You can't just plug a random number into the equation and get your desired number out of the equation.
