I have an interview with a contractor tomorrow. He mentioned I would have to pass a FedEx background check. Does anyone know how long this takes? Just wondering if it's a couple days or a couple week type thing.

    Thanks

I've been told 3-4 weeks... depending on the area. Not in Fedex just what I have heard

When I was hired they said about a week, but it took about 3 weeks. So I would say between 2-4 weeks.

Mine took a week. But that was a few years back.

Just heard today they are only waiting on one employer check. Everything else has been done. I've never pulled doubles. I guess it will take a little getting used to. Any tips?

I like doubles more than a 53ft. You don't have to swing out as wide on turns, and I kinda like hooking them up... sometimes. Going down the road they don't wiggle to much, except for when groves in the road wiggle them a little. They aren't bad in wind unless they are empty.

Hooking up will probably take close to 30mins, but after doing it a bunch between 10-20mins (if you can find your trailers quickly). Also when moving the dolly it is very hard to turn it, so make sure you are lined up with it or you will get a workout. Are you going to do team or solo?

It's solo. Just an out and back run.

I just did it all 6 months ago. Fedex took 1-2 weeks to do their thing. Once in system it's as easy as climbing out one contractors truck and into another switching contractors.

As far as pulling doubles I never done it either. They turn better but when it's really windy they wiggle pretty good.
