Nobody will believe your 50% fuel mileage improvement. Try to sell it on reliability and lower maintenance costs ... if mpg gain is to be had any small bonus is icing on the cake.

OP, I see your follow up. If you're right, you should be marketing your product as a 50% mpg booster with some dpf capability.

In all honesty though, you should try claiming a 5% mpg increase with next batch of snake oil. It will be a WHOLE lot more believable.

 

What is the sooth supposed to be falling through? What substance/device? It needs to be captured and processed as far as I know. Is there a gas chamber in which the particulates will somehow dissolve. Eh.. enough of this time wasting here. I'd better go now and drink some scotch.

 

I can believe that a new system could be developed that reduces the negative fuel efficiency affects of the current DPF filters by 50% (e.g. if a DFP costs you 3 MPG your system may only cost 1.5 MPG) but no way is any sort of system going to increases the overall fuel efficiency of a truck by 50% which is how your original post reads.

 

Sorry my confusion are you DIESEL researcher or Business researcher?
Ask any dealership how much money they make out of aftertreament system repair and selling related parts.
Do you have enough security to protect yourself and inventor from them?

 

It's trash and deserves it's spot in the bin.

 

If the OP is on the level, he should start by going to Cummins down in Jamestown, NY and talk to those folks. They would give him a lot more info and feedback than he can get here.

 

My last truck over three years cost 3.5 cents per mile including DEF fluid and replacing the DPF filters after 8,000 hours. So around $11,000 over three years.
And I did not have any problems with mine. I know a few guys that spent over $30,000 in the same time period plus all the lost days in the shop.
