    Yes.
Everyone is in such a hurry, rushing and driving as fast as they can to make a buck.

Then it bites them, and they don't make money any more.

How about we just build a tunnel under the whole state. Not like you'd be missing out on much.

I escaped SLC, I'm in Bakersfield delivering insulation In the morning. 6000lbs. Bout the size of a van. Half tarped this time, full tarped last time. IMG_20170130_173335.jpg

Listened to some old timers up there. They all said that the route over Elk Mountain was stupid and the issues they have with the wind and weather were going to happen. 80 should have followed US 30 through Medicine Bow.

The restrictions on I-80 were finally lifted at around 1100 today so I was able to get going.
I delivered here in Salt Lake City at about 2130 then came over to the terminal for the night.

I kept getting pplans for Costco loads, picking up by 0730 tomorrow and delivering at 1930.
Along with a note to 'please pick it up as soon as safely possible and we'll tell you what to do with the load soon'.
Right. Been there, done that. They never tell me.
I had enough hours to pick it up tonight if I wanted, but I've been up since before 0300 and I'm beat. I didn't find an mt at the consignee so I need to hunt one down, and I didn't feel like taking another 30 just to have the hours to do it tonight.

It was a very nice drive through Wyoming, though. No wind to speak of, and no ice on the roads.

Spent the night in lovely Vernon CA (walking distance from downtown LA.) 3 of us got to a reefer warehouse tear down. 1 of us escaped. A few other flatbeds showed up.

It's been a complete cluster. Such a disorganized mess that ya just gotta sit and laugh. And the crane laughed to the bank. The guys in charge loaded one of us, gave him his bills, then they decided they wanted to throw more on. He left and decided he wasn't coming back. Swift decided they'd just throw another truck at it today. They then loaded one truck with two AC units, unloaded that truck and then put em on me. And they were putting things on, then rearranging it. And we had to keep them from from going oversize since this crap ain't permitable.

Dealing with a crew that's never loaded a truck, and a customer that don't know how they wanna move thier stuff.

Oh well, got my layover which for us is actually a bit more fair. But this has just been plain entertaining.

Sounds like a fun day, FerrissWheel.

I'm in Monument, CO after a failed delivery attempt at a Costco in Colorado Springs.
This load was already late when I picked it up in SLC so it was rescheduled for today. I guess a lot of them are that way, both with Swift and Navajo.
When I got there he was too backed up to fit me in so I'll have to go back tomorrow sometime. He could not say what time so I will head there in the morning and wait until they can fit me in.

My next load delivers in Bozeman, MT Monday morning at 0930 - a Coors load out of Golden. As long as I can pick it up tomorrow sometime I'll be fine.

It continued. Too bad you ain't bringing the beer this way Moose, most of me is in pain.

Bout 1630 o clock I got done getting loaded. Im leaving in the morning. Another round of layover (at least that what my DM called it.) I'm going to pass out, me and my buddy still here we're both ready to choke these guys. This is a night mare I never wanna see again. This took brains and blood. Literally, had metal grating fall and hit my legs, cut in 6 places above both knees, then it fell further down and hit my ankle. More arguing, finally forced em to go to the store and get proper dunnage. They wanted to put the units on top of the styrofoam. Oi.

The photo will speak for itself. It was fun to secure. If only they could have had that ready to go on yesterday without me arguing over every detail. IMG_20170203_220118.jpg

I was unloaded at Costco by around 1100. They were crazy busy because of the big game tomorrow but he got me in pretty quickly.

But I shut down here in Monument again just after I left. 54 MPH wind gusts and an empty trailer don't mix well.
I can pick up the load in Golden at around 0500 tomorrow and still make the delivery appointment, so there is no need to chance it with the wind.

Good call, a flying moose is even on my list of trucking nightmares.

I always forget about the Superbowl.

Then everyone starts posting stuff and I remember.

Got going, stopped in Wilcox AZ at the TA. Cleaned my wounds, and showered.

Loads holding well only 57k gross. Alot lighter than I thought it would be. Only issue was the pallet of copper pipe. Had to cling wrap it again.
    Be in Laredo Monday morning.

Delivering a 3500 promaster to Olivia MN, and a 2500promaster to st Paul MN. This time I won't need a roll back. Scored a stepdeck with ramps. Granted I imagine backing down the ramps will be much harder than climbing them. Those vans turn on a dime. I kinda want one. I have to much fun driving them. But perhaps that's a symptom of driving a stretch frame truck everywhere.

After that picking up glass about 60 miles south at I forgot and my black book is in the cab so.... Then I'm going to Sacramento. So I'm finally back to running how I was before the winter slowdown. Hopefully they can keep it up. Or perhaps we've lost enough drivers over the winter slowdown there's less competition. That's all I've been hearing on our Facebook group (I quit not enough freight.)
