In our office we have two ladies that do full time sales over the phone, three others that split their time between phone sales/other duties and we have one guy that goes out to visit customers over a territory that stretches from Grand Rapids, MI south to Lafayette, IN and from the Chicago area east to Fort Wayne, IN.

Hey all Im rejoining the foodservice world after 3 years off. Going To Maines out of Aberdeen. What do you guys know about the overall or the location in General.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I've been by that warehouse it's next to the GFS warehouse right near the Bob's Discount Furniture warehouse which is down the street from Rite Aid's Mid Atlantic Distribution center, near US 43 or what ever it is. Cowan runs a grocery store distribution fleet at the mouth of the industrial park where Ryder has a garage because McLane and MBM have a warehouse over there as well right near the Home2Suiets and Wal-Mart Near US 44 or whatever main drag that is out there.
The Penske warehouse is in Bellcamp right across the way. Yeah I've been around that area.
Mains has the lift gate trailers out there, not all Mains have lift gate trailers, but in Aberdeen they have those I don't know who they do out there, but I see Mains trucks all the way out here in Cleveland with the lift gates and Mains actually has a warehouse here in Cleveland, but our Mains doesn't have lift gates, so those trailers are from another warehouse. With chain restaurant accounts you go all over the place and there's all kinds of over lap.
I don't know who Mains does out there, but they have lift gates so that's not so bad.ew2108 Thanks this. -

Yeah I used to deliver to clorox, rite aid and zenith out there. I figured you'd know about them atleast a bit Mike I been following this thread on and off for months. The hr manager at Maines literally told she needed me. I used to work for her at Sysco before I went and purchased a truck.
The liftgates is what got me to sign on along with the power-jacks and the only customer being Chick Fil a. The office in savage does BK Wendy's and Boston Market.
I was really just wondering how they are as a company. They seem friendly enough but that always changes.
They use Ryder Also . I think this office does everything from fredericksburg VA up to Maine and all of PA and east.
How do you like GFS? How Long you been with them. I considered them years ago.
-
There fine for me, it's hard work, but our routes are pretty stable so you get it down and it's fine. I've been at GFS almost 2 years now. Our Mains up here doesn't have lift gates and they do mostly Burger King and Wendy's.
I don't know about your Mains, but our Mains ran a big extra board and called people into work morning new and night and had a lot of sleeper cab runs.
There constantly hiring at our Mains, I think it's the big extra board that keeps everyone on-call. I think our Mains has guys on a 4 day work week and usually sends out 2 guys in each truck.
