OK this might be a stupid question but I'd like to know the easiest way to figure this out without using GPS. Calculator is fine. Here's the question...

If you have a 2,500 mile trip, and youre leaving on Monday at 8am, averaging 60mph, what is the soonest possible time you can make it to the destination?

Way to many factors. You need to get more precise. Give a start and end city, and type of truck (od/ normal van ect..

About 78 hours IF you can average 60 mph. That's based on three 10 breaks and a maximum of one hour per day for pretrip/fuel, 30 minute break, and post trip.

If you drive a 60 mph governed truck you won't average 60 mph, ESPECIALLY if you drive during the day. Drive at night on freeways and you get closer to that.

With fudge factor I would say 80-84 hours for ETA. Far better to under promise and over deliver.

I never plan on the soonest possible time, because that leaves no room for too many variables.
Figure your trip at 50mph, then add in a few more hours for possible delays.

And without using GPS means that you don't actually know how many miles you are traveling.
It could easily be another one or two hundred miles, or along slower roads, both of which take more time.

Trip planning is not a one size fits all situation. And it is seldom under ideal conditions.

41.67 hours so Wednesday around 0200. But unfortunately you have to stop for breaks, fuel, traffic caused by swift and Werner backing up highway playing bumper cars....

Swift should have a capital S as well.
    Please be respectful.

Wow sorry I forgot to put a capital "s" in swift. As far as respect I think it's a little more important if there drivers drove with respect instead of cutting people off and crashing into stuff all the time tearing up equipment. ;-(

This sounds like a school problem not a real life problem. 60 miles an hour is 1 mile a minute so 2500 / 60 = 41.67 You drive for 8 take and half our break and then drive for 3 hours. You had to do a pre trip and fuel. So it takes you 12 hours to drive 11 hours. You lose 1 hour a day do to that. So every day you have 13 hours of drive time available. 41.67 / 13 = 3 days and 5 hours

Real life answer is you drive 8.5 hours a day and it takes all week to drive 2500 and if the company doesn't like it they should pay you more.
