These are all good tips to ask the recruiter when i talk to him again. I don't know if they have any dedicated routes available. Thought he said in order to make that 1100 consistent i might have to stay out a couple weeks

Well one of the otr guys will be better suited to answer but coming home every weekend limits your options and therefor your pay. Like I said I didn't start out that way and I wouldn't if I had to start over find a milk truck or a dump and get started.

Yes you will be hard pressed to make 1100 grid and going home each week, 900 is definitely doable. And they will get you home weekly. The recruiter said every Friday afternoon, but that's just not possible. Friday evening sure. And regardless what everyone says, tmc is a starter company, yes, it's going to suck for the first 3, 4, 5 months until your body acclimates to the physical aspect of the job. Took me about 12 weeks before I stopped hurting every day. If you decide on tmc, They will feed you a line of #### at orientation, they will try to convince you that tmc is the best in the business, and they are pretty good, but I've got a lot of friends that were over there and bled the black and chrome rhetoric, and now all but the most devout have moved on to greater things.
Oxbow, johndeere4020, Pontimaniac and 1 other person Thank this. -
I see. Ive never actually saw a TMC truck rolling around anywhere. Always hope to catch one of the guys at a truck stop but never have yet to talk to them like other carriers. This seems like the best place to get info then anywhere. I'll see if they have a minimum week guarantee like allot of other companies do. I'll just see if i like them if not there's always other options.

Go to the flying j in vandalia on Friday, there are two or three that park there on their home time.
-
Ahh i gotcha. Thanks. I'll go up there this week and see if i can catch one before they go home. The pay isn't where id like but i figured since they have nicer trucks, automatics, and home time on the weekends it's worth taking a 200$ cut a week vs NTB.

I saw an opportunity in the long run to make the same, or even more, money and be home twice as much driving half the miles. That and the fact they are 10 minutes from my house.Pontimaniac, Razororange, johndeere4020 and 1 other person Thank this.

We are also a 6 company truck flatbed company and 2 o/o. 1 truck seems to always be empty. We don't advertise either. If someone with ambition needs a job they get hired and trained. You have to find us though. We are not going to recruit. That's per the owner.
Percentage pay 1099 mostly newer equipment and home on weekends mostly. Your not a number at our place! They know who is on the phone when they pick it up. Employee or coustemers! -
Seems like that will be my longc term goal as well for now then. Just gotta have a little bit of experience to land the more local job i want. Until then I'll have to bite the bullet with a OTR carrier.

System Transport runs in your area as well
