My wife LOVES her FB as well. I hope I can convince her to at least check it out. From what I have seen thus far, no drama. That is a huge plus for both of us.

Welcome to the forum. I'm new as well and there is some great, honest info on here. I've only had my cdl for 2 and a half years but remember that scared feeling.
Being scared is good, it shows you respect what your about to do, witch is, drive a 80,000 lb vehicle on the roads along with other motorists. It's serious business! Don't be scared tho, but, be mindful of what your doing. Here's some good advice starting out:

Mouth shut, eyes open and smile
    Check your mirrors
    Watch your tandems
Swing wide, learn to identify corners and when in doubt, hook it out. (Buttonhook turn)
Learn to anticipate and think ahead. Not only watch the vehicle in front and sides, but, the break lights 5 or even 10 cars ahead.
Don't panic if you make a mistake like miss an exit.We all have. Just maintain your lane and turn around at the next exit.
Don't put yourself in a position you can't get out of. You might have to get pinned in overnight or get yourself in a jam to learn this one. You'll learn what you can and can not do.
If you do get in a situation that you can't get out of like pull in a parking lot with islands, got a low clearance power line, or even find yourself on a non trucking road...no shame in calling the cops for help backing out. They would much rather assist you blocking traffic than you pulling some John Wayne jackknife maneuver and destroying property getting out.
Don't refuse loads unless it's a safety issue or hours issue. Be prepared to explain in detail to your dispatcher or safety. They won't tell you, but, co have thier little black book of who can do what, more you can take, more money your going to make.

That's all I can think of right now. It's a good life and can be a lucrative career. It will test you and first 30 days running solo, you'll know what your made of. Keep your head, keep your cool, no tickets and no accidents...get a year otr exp and than you can go anywhere. Good luck
