Quick question on who is screwing me or not

    You would be making the lateral step into dog ####, as it were. Dispatchers are people (I think, or at least so I have been told). You won't see much difference going to O/O, versus company.
    You will still see the same time disparities as you do now. Difference being the problems will ALL be on your shoulders. Any breakdown or delay, will be your sole responsibility.
    Of course, you will also have the ability to not take some of those long lead time loads, as you begin to recognize them. You will then be walking around the dig pile and have a better smelling truck. But you may also be sitting more, with NO load, instead of sitting on one.

    Western Flyer, please.......Not every company operates the way you seems to think they do.

    Dispatchers have drivers they like and those they don't. They are supposedly human.
    They are subject to the whims of their own problems and dealings with those who can't seem to get the job done in a timely fashion.
    They are also hampered by the volume of freight available. This is a simple cold hard fact of life. they don't have the time or inclination to parcel out freight to whomever is the cheapest driver available.
    They grab the closest/ first available driver, if possible, so they can move on to the next cry baby on the phone screaming for a load.

    I was a union driver for 2 years. Great experience, EXCEPT. My hard work was NOT recognized. I was stuck with the same pay regardless of how hard I worked versus how hard the slacker next to me didn't.

    Yes I have always done that and the receivers I am going to lately with these huge delivery windows are not allowing it.

    I don't know how you figure Im at the bottom of the pay scale, but what ever, If your not making a living there is no reason to stick it out with a loser company, I have 3 companies mainly in 20 plus years, there were a couple that were not worth staying with, or changed how they were run.
    As far as what I make, thats a contest of liars I do not get into here.

    No-one asked you what you make or really cares to know. I said your comments remind me of typical impatient types that never stick at any given job for very long. And it also sounds to me like OP is making a good living at the top of his company's payscale right where he's at. It's the middle of winter which is always dead slow for everyone. Nothing new there. And he's pulling in a $1,000 a week in bad weeks. Listening to a bunch of older drivers at his company pissing and moaning some tin foil hat conspiracies about everyone else getting miles. It would be stupid to quit a job like that until he could be sure he was making a real step up.

    Actually the company has a website showing the top ten drivers and their miles and I see a few guys driving in a year or less and they have high scores still. I know it's because they are running those daily Tyson loads while I get the garbage. I can make $1700 a week with those loads. I sit for days even with 60 hours on my 70.

    I was known as a "roller" when I was a company driver. Rollers get a lot of miles. Sometimes I didn't get much sleep though. I didn't care. Log books were a joke 10 years ago and I was saving up for my owner operator dream. Are you a roller? Do you make it happen?

    Heck yeah I'm a roller. When I was a programmer for 15 years I would sometimes work for two days straight without a break. I've always had a lot of energy.

    I would suggest don't worry about what anyone else is making and become a squeaky wheel with your own dispatcher about getting more miles. If she's an empty air head give it a little time but go up the chain if you need to with your complaint. The squeaky wheel gets grease but be tactful because no-one likes an ### hole.

    Or a hemorrhoid.

    They irritate ### holes.
