I used to deal with this kind of penny pinching bs at Heartland express. Then I moved to a small tanker outfit that pays hourly for otr. $14 ALL on duty time and $21.25 for driving. I'm making more than i ever have in my life! Bottom line is get ur experience in and find a better (smaller) company. @Thull there are several small tanker outfits that pay much better than sni if u have a year exp.

Are you on the Schneider Tanker Choice Board? If so how does in and out of Chicago look? COnsidering coming over but cant seem to get an honest answer to how much work there is on the tanker board?

Id appreciate and insight and knowledge.

Patty, my company pays $150/ day detention and I have a $1200 / wk pay guarantee. You remember me? The poor ####### that kept getting screwed by Swift?

Schneider paid me layover twice at my home terminal in Dallas, and I only worked there for 4 months. I think you just have to ask for it while standing in front of them in the office. Once for breakdown, once for pm(waiting on parts). Either way, It wasn't automatic and both times the lady over dispatch said "we don't normally approve this but I'll let your DBL know".

Not bad for only having 16 months recent experience! My other experience is too old to count. I drive for West Side Transport out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They have about 500 trucks and 2200 trailers. I did a LOT of research before leaving Swift and have been with West Side for 10 months. They have just been fantastic and never disappoint me. I have a great DM too!

I should add that they are really working at driver retention. The Chairman and owner (family owned) even drives himself some weekends. He knows what goes on.

Werner did that once to me.
I sat in the truck 5 hrs waiting for a load coming off home time. It never happened again.
Told my fm to call me or send message when a load is ready. I give you a return time, make sure a load is ready. Otherwise I won't go to truck until it's loaded and sent to me
