I agree with the others get Skype or face time to see your family thru video, but please help me understand one thing why become a trucker if you don't want to be away from home. Sometimes I wonder when people look at this career do they know this is not just a job but a lifestyle and a calling maybe it sounds silly but that's how I see it.

 

In my opinion OTR is a countdown to divorce. Maybe some driver can get a local job before time runs out? Maybe some wife is independent enough the separation isn't fatal to the marriage. OTR teaches husband and wife to live apart.

 

The FMCSA prohibits any CDL holder from lying. They could revoke your license.
