Yep you have the idea correct with the explanation of mine. The chase vehicle was probably yelling at the driver of the blade when they saw the contact. By then it was too lat for both of them.

Granted I am wondering why the chase vehicle wasnt blocking the lane of the CFI so the blade would have had clearance for the tip to swing.

Now if he was Mormon, he'd have said, "Oh My Heck!" or if he was really disturbed, "Good Hell!":biggrin_2559:

Anyone else notice that there was no warning on that overhanging beam? At least none that showed up on the clip...
Don't know where this was, but I think anywhere in the US that driver'd be in deep doo-doo for not having at least a flag on it.

    Crusader66 and lovesthedrive Thank this.

The video of the beam is not in the States.
Now on the blade deal. Alot of you are jumping on the rear car. First we can't see where they are sitting. Now CFI could of went around the pilot car also
When rear steering you have so many things you are trying to watch and do

Nobody is perfect, and even experienced OS and pilot folks get it wrong sometimes, but the percentage is on CFI being a 'tard.

    IMHO

    YMMV

My pilot had one lane blocked, holding a stop sign out the window. I am moving the dolly to the left and almost hit the van that blew by my pilot.

May not be the fault of the pilot. I jumped all over my pilot for that and told him next time put that #### truck sideways in the road if you have to.

He was worried about the right lane that my truck was in. Told him to worry about the left lane, I had the right two covered with the 100+ foot beam.
